Ash Girdler the principal of the A.G.A. GROUP controls the day to day running of the fish health facility.  Ash is a Chartered Biologist and is currently carrying out research on a part-time basis at Kingston University for a Ph.D.; which is looking into the effects of ectoparasites on fish communities in inland stillwater fisheries.

In addition to his fish disease interest Ash is interested in the effects of nutrition and in particular anglers bait as suitable nutrition to sustain fish in angling waters.

As a Fishery Manager and angler with over 20 years of practical experience to draw on Ash  appreciates the problems associated with managing fisheries for angling, especially with the growing trend of very high stocking densities and heavy angling pressure.  This is where the integrated approach of the A.G.A. Group can help.  They will use their unique mix of skills to work with the client to incorporate the health and nutrition of the fish in the Fishery Management Strategy for the future.

Supplementary feeding can be a very effective tool for the fishery manager to improve and maintain the health of the fish stock, for this reason the A.G.A. Group import balanced carp diets (suitable for all coarse fish) into the UK and are happy to blend immuno-stimulants and probiotics with the feed to order. The types of additives can then be blended to suit the symptoms rather than confuse the fish’s system with an over-rich cocktail, many of the additives may well be unnecessary, and reduce the options of treatments in the future. For further advice and feed quotation please contact Ash Girdler.

In addition to standard health examinations to facilitate stock movement (Section 30), advice can be given on a combination of any of the following; -

Water Quality Analysis
Disease Treatment
Nutritional Profile of the Water
Nutritional Profile of the Fish
Complete Management Plan
Fish Mortalities

Successful fish farmers are aware of the importance of water quality as one of the major environmental factors in growing healthy fish.

’Buyer Beware’ is recommended by the Environment Agency.  The A.G.A. Group endorse and support this policy and commend it to their clients.  Always make sure that fish to be stocked have been health checked and endeavor to have a reliable and experienced person on-site to inspect the fish before they are actually stocked.  The A.G.A. Group offers coverage across all of  the English mainland.
